Sinikka Siivola Memorial Tournament, February 8-9th 2020, Helsinki, Finland#
To honour the memory of our dear friend, and to carry on her legacy, we are hosting a go tournament in the name of Sinikka Siivola, a true go enthusiast and tournament goer extraordinaire.
The tournament is focused on the joy of the game, and bringing reasonable go games to everyone, dans and double-digits alike.
Every go player, young or old, beginner or already past their peak, old friend or a future one, should feel welcome to take part in the tournament.
We would especially like to welcome Sinikka's numerous go-friends from all over the world.
About the tournament#
There will be no single winner of the tournament but prizes will be given based both on predefined criteria and drawing lots. There are no money prizes.Since there is no need to single out the best player in the tournament, pairings will be done by a more relaxed, interactive pairing system that will be revealed at the beginning of the tournament.
The games will be played with handicaps, and the results will not be forwarded to the GoR rating system.
Time limit is 20 minutes + 8 second Fischer increment per move.
The Nihon Ki-in 1989 rules and the EGF tournament rules will be used.
