2 kyu Tampereelta. Aloitin pelaamaan syksyllä -03. Alussa pelailua lähinnä igowiniä vastaan sekä satunnaisia irl-pelejä yliopistolla. Maaliskuussa -04 menin ensinmäiseen peli-iltaani, jossa sain luokituksekseni 18 kyu ja kuulin Kgs:stä (nyttemmin jäänyt Kgs:ssä pelailut todella vähille. Igs:ssä nykyinen tunnus Catharsis). Tämän jälkeen alotin melko ahkeran nettipelaamisen ja jopa kehitystä on ollut havaittavissa.

Pelaamaan alottaessa tavoitteena oli vuodessa 10 kyu ja kahdessa vuodessa dan. Ensimmäinen tavoite toteutui helposti todella hitaasta startista huolimatta, mutta toinen tuskin tulee onnistumaan.

Omistamani go-kirjat ja joitakin mietteitä niistä:

Life and Death: Hankin tämän joskus n.15 kyuna. Silloin oli kovin hyödyllinen kirja. Sen jälkeen ei ole tullut luettua paljoa.

Attack and Defence: Tämän hankin n.10 kyuna. Erittäin hyvä kirja. Sillointällöin tulee vieläkin luettua ettei totuus unohtuisi.

The Direction of Play: Tämä on kanssa hyvä kirja. En ole löytänyt tätä aihetta suoraan käsitteleviä kirjoja enempää. Hieman vain pistää silmään kirjoittajan (ainakin omasta mielestäni) perinteisestä poikkeava näkemys fusekiin.

In the Beginning: Tämän hankin vissiin 5 kyuna. Luulen, että olisin saanut tästä irti enemmän aiemmin. Nyt lähes kaikki asiat oli ainakin jossain määrin tuttuja jo.

Fundamental Principles of Go: Tämän hankin vasta hetki sitten. Todella hyvä kirja minun tasoiselleni. Pidän tästä ehkä Attack and Defencen ohella eniten lukemistani kirjoista. Varsinkin kirjan lopussa oleva osio, jossa näytetään hyviä invaasiotapoja normaaleja nurkkamuotoja vastaan on erinomainen.

Lisäksi muista kirjoista kannattanee mainita vanha klassikko Tesuji, joka oli todella hyödyllinen kirja 15 kyuna. Opetti todella monta hyödyllista kikkaa.
