| YliGo organizes Kaisla league 2014, a league tournament played in Oluthuone Kaisla's club evenings. The idea of this league tournament is to bring games of better quality to the club evenings. The league lasts approximately the University's autumn term. |

| Kaisla league starts again! __First round will be played at Kaisla on 10th of September (Wednesday).__ Last year the tournament was won by Juuso Nyyssönen with a perfect score of 5/5. Who's gonna win this year? |

| You should remember that you have to register for each round separately. So even if you play the first round and you want to play on the second round, you have to come to Kaisla for the second round registration. If you can't come to Kaisla on time, you can register for the round by phone: __044 363 1018__. Registration by phone is OK, if you can come to Kaisla no later than 19:00. __Registration at Kaisla begins at 18:00 and ends at 18:30. Please, try to be on time for the official registration!__ |

| Because the 1st and 2nd place prizes can't be shared between players, there may be some extra games on the 10th of December. |

| !Tournament system |
|
| The tournament consists of five rounds played during five different Kaisla club evenings. The registration will be in the beginning of the club evening and the games will start right after it. The league games will be played every third week on Wednesdays. The league takes about three months to finish. |
|
| The tournament will be paired with McMahon system, but only number of wins decides the final score. In other words McMahon will only be used to find the most suitable pairings and the final placement of a player is decided by the number of the player's won games. In the pairing each rank will form it's own McMahon group, which means that even kyu players have a good chance to win prizes. |
|
| The participants can choose to play as many rounds as they want to. It is even possible to win the league by playing just four games and skipping one round. Players who skip a round will get half a McMahon point for pairing purposes, but they will not get a win. If the top players have the same number of wins after the last round, the prizes will be decided with extra game(s) on the 10th on December. |

| *Handicap stones are used if players' MMS difference is two or greater. Handicap will be MMS difference -1. |

|
| Even though the tournament will be played at a bar, normal tournament rules still apply. So the players should not chat with observers and the observers should not comment/disturb the games. |

| !Participation and prizes |
|
| Because the games will be played in Oluthuone Kaisla, only adults can participate in the tournament. Kaisla's age limit is 18 years. |
|
| Kaisla league is free of charge. The players don't have to be members of any go club. |
|
| The winner and the runner-up of the tournament get Oluthuone Kaisla's gift cards. |

| If you need to leave early from Kaisla, please tell this to the organizers. This way we can make sure that you get to play your game as soon as the round starts. |
|
| The tournament organizers are not parity players. So if there is an odd number of players, one of these players doesn't get to play a game. As a compensation the player gets a win from that round. |
|
| !Extra games |
|
| Possible extra games are not part of the actual tournament. They are meant to decide the owners of the prizes. The extra games are played with different time settings and without handicaps. These extra games are not EGF rated games, so they won't affect the players' GoR. Earlier games between players are not tie breakers. This means that you may get to play someone you played earlier in the league. However if several players share the 1st place after the 5th round, we will try to pair the extra games so that your opponent is someone you did not play in the league. |

| Time settings for the extra games is 10 minutes of basic time and 3 x 20 seconds japanese byo-yomi. |
|
| !Schedule |
|
| Registration for each round begins at 18:00 and ends at 18:30. The game has to be played during the same evening. If there are tons of players participating for a round, we may not have enough stones and boards for everyone to start the game at 18:30. If this happens, some participants will have to wait for other players to finish their games first. |
