1990#

• Luin Pelien kirjasta go:n säännöt ja pelasin kokeilupelin kaverini kanssa, sillä tarkoituksenamme oli yläasteen puukäsityössä tehdä jonkin lautapelin laudat ja nappulat. Muutaman kosmisen ruutupaperille tuhritun mustan ja valkoisen kiven jälkeen totesimme kyseessä olevan täysin käsittämätön peli ja lopulta askartelimme shogin pelivälineet, minkä jälkeen unohdin go:n pitkäksi aikaa.

1998 #

• Aloitin pelaamisen TTgoK:ssa alkusyksystä. Olin nähnyt kerhon pelaajia joskus Hervannassa ravintolassa pelaamassa ja pari kaveriani aloitti pelaamisen samaan aikaan, joten päätin heidän mukana tarkistaa uudemman kerran, mistä go:ssa oikein on kyse. Jäin pahaan riippuvuussuhteeseen välittömästi.

1999 #

• Pelasin ensimmäisen turnaukseni 11 kyu:na, joka oli Tampereen Kani6.
